The NFL Pro Bowl players along with members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame will be golfing in the Warren Moon/St Jude Golf Tournament at Hoakalei Country Club in Ewa Beach, Hawaii on January 27, 2012.
The tournament will be a 4 person scramble with the Pro Bowler or Hall of Fame player in each group for a total of 5 players.

Hoakalei Country Club in Ewa Beach, Hawaii continues to progress with the golf course and country club. The parking lot has recently added lights and many new trees have been planted.
The spring aeration of the greens was completed last week and the greens are already looking and rolling very well only 1 week after the aeration. The greens should be back up to their excellent normal condition within a few weeks. Thanks to Ron and Ian the superintendents for their excellent work on the greens and the rest of the course.

Leilehua Army Golf Course in Mililani Hawaii is finally undergoing its renovations. The tee boxes, greens and cart paths will be the main focus of the improvements. The work started about 3 weeks ago and will last approximately 14 months thru April 2012. This is long overdue and will be nice to have an improved Army golf course in Hawaii.
The homes at Ka Makana at Hoakalei Resort in Ewa Beach, Hawaii are based on a numbered series. The 1,000 series homes are all townhouses, the 2,000 series all the way thru the 6,000 series are single family homes. The 2,000 series are the entry level homes. The only homes that are planned for building on the Hoakalei Country Club Golf Course frontage are the 6,000 series.
All of these homes are approved by the VA and are eligible for the VA Home Loan in Hawaii.

There are several new home developments in Ewa Beach, Hawaii. Several of them are found in the Ewa by Gentry community. All of these communities are approved for Hawaii VA Loan purchases.
Those located in the Ewa by Gentry community are:
1. The Tides in Ewa Beach. These are single family homes starting in the mid to high 300’s.
2. Latitudes in Ewa Beach. These are also single family homes starting in the mid to high 500’s.
3. Haleakea in Ewa Beach. These are single family homes with some golf course frontage homes. Prices start in the mid to high 600’s.
4. Ka Makana at Hoakalei in Ewa Beach. This development is centered around a “private country club” (call me for details about this “private” course). The homes range from townhouses for the low 400’s all the way up to golf course frontage homes over 3,000 sf in size for over 1 milion dollars.

A few years ago, Hoakalei “Country Club” was said to be an “exclusive, private country club”.

Want another great reason to join Hoakalei Country Club in Ewa Beach? The monthly dues cover all of your greens fees (there is a fee for electric carts though which is very reasonable). Unlike all the other private country clubs on Oahu, THERE IS NO REQUIREMENT TO SPEND A MONTHLY MINIMUM IN THE RESTAURANT! Check around with the other private country clubs on Oahu and you will find that you have monthly minimums that must be spent in the restaurants (I have been told that one of the clubs monthly restaurant fee is higher than the monthly golf dues).
I have spoken to several of the founding members at Hoakalei Country Club and we all agreed that one of the major reasons that we joined the club was because there was no requirement to spend a monthly minimum at the restaurant.
I know what some of you may be thinking: THERE IS NO RESTAURANT AT HOAKALEI COUNTRY CLUB. Think again! The kitchen arrived a few weeks ago and it is being set up to begin food preparation next month. We are all very excited that we will be able to eat at Hoakalei Golf Course very soon!
The permanent club house and restaurant is still years away from completion but in the interim, the temporary facility will work just fine!
